    1) Coastal Cornucopia is at the Mendo Coast Botanical Gardens this Saturday 10-4pm. The guild is having a booth represented by the inland group but all members can come out and show their support by attending the event (or spreading the word). Fundraising for Mendocino Vitality Tonic: The GO FUND ME page has been up for several weeks and is being broadcast on various social media sites. Goal is $4600 and the start goal on the page was started at $2500. So far we have donations of $1,102.   • Firefighter Benefit / Medicine Making on the Coast

    Distraught about those effected by the Mendocino Complex and surrounding fires, the coast branch of the Mendocino County Herb Guild held a medicine making party on August 8th at the Caspar Community center. Guild members donated various tinctures of individual herbs that addressed respiratory or nervous-stress concerns. We ended up with quite an array of wonderful medicine which was formulated into two tincture batches: “Lung Tonic” and “Tension Tamer”. They are each very unique formulas made with lots of love! Lung Tonic was made with Yerba Santa, Splilanthes (made with turmeric and black pepper), Usnea, Grindelia, Self Heal, Astragulus, Rosemary, Thyme, Spikenard, Yarrow and Elecampane.     Howdy all, Vicky Salcido-Cobbe from Willits here. I had the honor of introducing the vision of the MCHG to the Inland Mendocino County Farmers Guild on June 20th., and what transpired that evening was very inspiring and hopeful. In a nutshell, farmers are very interested and excited to grow herbs for our dream of an Herb Exchange for local herbalists. The main concern is making sure the herbs will be purchased once ready to harvest. We discussed contract growing as the most viable option, especially in the beginning stages.
